Clever checkweigher takes over control tasks Buyers want to be sure that whatever is printed on the packing is also really inside. This also applies to convenience foods. Nobody wants to buy a 200 g pack of Lyoner and then discover at home that the kitchen scale says it only weighs 170 g. Thanks to the National legal for trade requirements (German abbreviation FPV), no one need worry whether the contents of a package are correct. Since the 80's, the ordinance has been providing strict directives about how far the actual contents can deviate from the amounts stated on the package. While the National legal for trade requirements has not changed in recent years, there have been several technological advances for determining the permitted net weights. Nowadays, high-precision weighers determine the exact weight in a single pack in a split second; they calculate deviations and can even intervene in the packing process to regulate filling machines...
